Not sure if good deal or not - Trek Emonda ALR 6 2023/4
I've been riding my fixed gear custom bike since 2013 and have done thousands of KMs on it and thought since I am entitled to cycle2work to finally go for an upgrade. I went into my usual bike shop that does my tires in my local area that specialises in road/gravel and let them know of my situation.
The owner had recently come across a Trek Emonda ALR 6 frame from 2023/24 in his basement whilst remodelling that had been a failed order from a few years back but never ridden on that had been forgotten/lost/hidden in storage.
He showed me the frame and offered me this frame as a full custom build with custom geometry for £1000, obviously nothing overly crazy (hydraulic brakes not Di2). We went through and speccd the rest of the bike and it seems like he this is a steal of the century getting an all in custom bike and geometry for less than £1k. I can't quite remember what the rest of the components were but the bike shop assured me they were good, shimano, good wheels and tires (not carbon), can't remember the rest of the items
Is this a good deal? or Have I been bamboozled in some way? Completely new to road cycling, as you can tell I've been riding a fixed gear bike for last 12 years that's done me well.
