Australian Med School

Is it true that if you go to Austrialia for med school as a Canadian, there’s a high chance you’ll be trapped with 300k in debt and without a job? I’m comfortable staying and working in Australia even if I don’t match back to Canada, but a lot of forums online say that going to Austrialia for med school as a Canadian is an old method and it doesn’t work anymore, is this true?
