Question about sending in license for a 15 day suspension in PA

I'm in Pennsylvania . Two months back I got a speeding ticket (very stupid of me, I have since learned my lesson). İ paid the fine and went to the driver improvement school and the hearing. Ended up getting a 15 day suspension. My question is, at the driver improvement school, the DMV employee who was running it said that even though you technically are supposed to send in your licence during your suspension, you don't need to for a 15 day suspension because it's such a short time. And only if it were several months would you have an issue with not sending in your license. Does anyone have any experience with this? I don't want the time of my suspension to not count because they don't have my license, or even worse, incur other penalties because of this. When I searched online I didn't find anyone talking about not sending in their license. Thanks for your help.
