More liver in cat foods?
Are wet food companies adding more liver to keep prices low? My cats hate liver. Years ago, they taught me that liver was poisonous and it was better to starve than to eat it. They started refusing Publix brand a few months ago, and I realized that even the seafood flavors smelled like liver instead of fish. So we switched to Fancy Feast. It was excellent. But they stopped eating it a month ago. The whitefish, the salmon, and now the Seafood Feast all smell like liver. Up until today, the little Sheba single servings salmon smelled like fish. Not anymore. The cats have Science Diet dry, but I need to find a wet food that has minimal liver. I’m doing my best to keep them healthy, but I think cat food companies are using cheaper ingredients and since most cats love liver, it’s working for them.
