Nonfiction audiobooks?
Recently I've gotten into listening to nonfiction audiobooks on my commute and at work. I like ones that provide a survey look into the topic, but I also like memoirs from people who have survived trauma.
Topics I'm particularly interested in: history (particularly history pre-WW1), true crime, women's studies, cults, mythology and fairy tales from a scholarly pov, shakespeare, film, horror as a genre. I do like books that delve into a broader topic and then devote a chapter or two to different subjects that fit within that topic.
Some titles I've listened to and loved:
- Dinner for Vampires by Bethany Joy Lenz
- Lady Killers: Deadly Women Throughout History by Tori Telfer
- Cultish: the Language of Fanaticism by Amanda Montell
- Everything is Tuberculosis by John Green
- The House of my Mother by Shari Franke
- American Scary by Jeremy Dauber
- Murderland: Crime and Bloodlust in the Time of Serial Killers by Caroline Fraser
- I'm Glad My Mom Died by Jennette McCurdy
