How do you split Thanksgiving between 2 families?

My family lives 20 minutes from my fiancé’s aunts. They both host at the same time pretty much. We have been doing Thanksgiving separate, but just thinking about when we have kids what we should do. I don’t like asking someone to move what they’ve done for years.
