Searching for a good therapist
26f. I moved to Long Island from abroad almost 4 years ago now. It’s been great, I love living here. I love working, saving, and I love all the things there are to do around here. In other areas of my life, I’ve become more and more lost. Mainly, my relationships, and even my relationship with myself. I know your 20’s is a time of personal growth and development, but I feel like it’s working against me. I no longer think I understand myself and what I want and need from other people. I can’t tell what I should feel good about and what is genuinely bad for me, but I’m choosing to ignore. Every day that goes by feels more and more pointless, and I’m finding it harder to stay in touch with that part of me that was always able to focus on the things that made me happy or gave me hope. I’ve been to see a few people, some I’ve had better experiences than others, but I thought it was time I did a little research and asked if anyone on here would suggest someone who they thought was great to talk to. Someone that seems down-to-earth. I’d like to feel like it’s worth the money. I don’t mind where on the island it is. I currently have a catastrophic healthcare plan. My renewal is coming up soon, so I’ve been considering getting a better plan to cover the costs of this. So, at the moment, I don’t mind which insurance providers they take. I really appreciate any suggestions. And if anyone has some life advice for a sad girl in her 20’s, I’d really appreciate that too. 😊
