Got hit with 2 academic integrity violations in MAE 384… anyone been through this?

Hey everyone, I’m an aerospace engineering major taking MAE 384 this semester, and I’ve somehow gotten hit with two academic integrity violations in this class.

The first one was for using a MATLAB function that wasn’t allowed — they gave me a zero on the test and made me take a 2-hour online academic integrity course. I figured that would be the end of it, but now I just got flagged again on another test for the same reason.

Honestly, I hate MATLAB and don’t really know how to use it well, so I’ve been relying on ChatGPT to help me write my code. I guess that’s what got me in trouble both times.

Has anyone else been in a similar situation? I’m really worried I might end up with an XE on my transcript, lose my New American University scholarship, or have to meet with someone higher up about this. Any advice or personal experiences would really help.
