What is the requirement for Edinburgh City Council private hire driver license?

Hi everyone!

I’m planning to move to Edinburgh soon and am thinking about applying for a Private Hire Driver (PHD) licence through the Edinburgh Council. I’ve checked their website and saw that the process could cost around £810 plus several mandatory training courses.

I’m a bit confused about the exact cost and how long the whole process usually takes. Most of the requirements I can meet, but I’d really appreciate it if anyone here could share: • The accurate total cost for a new PHC licence, including all fees and courses • The average time it takes from application to approval

Any guidance, tips, or personal experiences would be really helpful!

Thanks in advance!
