What happened to Voldemorts body the first time he died?

I know that Lily's sacrifice may have made his death more complicated that just a rebounding Avada Kedavra spell. For most of my life, I imagined him sort of exploding or something. But today I was wondering if there was a body?? The whole wizarding world knew he was dead and immediately started celebrating. In the absence of witnesses, I assume they would have needed some pretty solid proof to think that, and to piece together what had happened. Like did the neighbors in Goddricks Hollow come running in to find a dead Voldy next to baby Harry? and if there was a body, what happened to it? I'd love some thoughts.
