What is the ideal chapter length these days?

The ideal wattpad chapter length used to be around 1500-2000 words for romance books.

But with all these ads popping up in-between chapters, I wonder if longer chapters (3000-4000 words or even 5000 words) are more desirable to readers.

I've noticed that readers download stories and read them offline, which is a great solution for dealing with ads on the app! However, this inevitably means that there's be less engagement (fewer votes and comments). So, I've been wondering whether authors are making their chapters longer so their online readers won't have to watch ads every other minute.

1. Have you noticed any trends of authors writing longer chapters or even combining chapters? Or have you done this yourself?

2. What is the ideal chapter length for you romance readers?

3. What are your solutions for dealing with lower engagment because of ads?
