5ft + short arms + shoulder injury - please help me pick between these guitars (Yamaha/jim dandy/martin)

NEWBIE

Hi everyone! This one is a doozy. As the title says, I’m five feet tall with shorter arms and a right shoulder injury. I went to a local guitar store where the lovely salesperson showed me the following:

*yamaha FG eight hundred: holy smokes I didn’t realize dreadnaughts were this big. My right shoulder was really cranked up and my upper arm kept wanting to slide down the hump of the guitar and into the crook.

*yamaha FS four hundred: this was just a tad smaller than the previous but I was running into the same issues

*jim dandy parlour: salesperson handed me this one after I told him about my shoulder. Whoa! Great size but the sound was definitely worse than the two above. It seemed more shrill? More tinny?

*jim dandy parlour LTD: salesperson said this was the upgrade to the regular parlour. Sounded a bit better I think and was slightly bigger. This was the most expensive out of the four but still within range of what I would pay for a beginner guitar.

Thanked the salesperson profusely for letting me try all of these guitars and headed to a national chain instrument store. Holy smokes I couldn’t believe the guitars were all in a humidity controlled room! I went in and a salesperson was in there already with an older customer that was strumming away (this is relevant later I swear). I asked the salesperson if I can try the guitars and he said to go ahead, and he left the room.

*Fender CD? - same issues as Yamahas above

*epiphone DR one hundred - sounded more tinny than the Yamahas

*yamaha storia three - ooooooooo sounded lovely. I think this was smaller than a regular size and ergonomically better, but I don’t need electric and was getting a bit more expensive

*martin & co LX one little Martin - whoaaaaa size was so nice I think it’s the same as the Jim dandy parlour but sounded better than the Jim dandy. Most expensive at this point.

Now it’s here where the older man that was in the room piped up and asked if I was looking for my first guitar. I said yes, and he said the ones I picked up earlier were all good. I explained my shoulder problem and passed him the little martin. He made that guitar sing! Then he looked around and picked out another Martin - JR triple zero Martin junior. He said this should be better and started playing. The tone was on a different league right away and mannnnnn he passed it over to me and it was a good fit. I didn’t realize I was actually scrunching a bit with the little Martin (which the man pointed out). He pretty much gave me a free concert between the two Martin’s and told me I should get the junior, if it doesn’t work out in a year I could still get more than half its price back. I said this was more than I was prepared to spend for a beginners guitar, and he said but if it sounds good and feels good in your hands, wouldn’t you be more likely to pick it up to play?

If you made it this far… what would you do? The Martin junior is on sale as it’s being discontinued, but it’s still three times the price of the beginner Yamaha. I can pay for it no issue, I guess it’s just the principle of the price of a beginner’s guitar (I feel like I’m asking for permission to buy it lul). Or if you have any recommendations for similar guitars in size and sound and cheaper to the Martin junior please let me know!! 🙏🙏🙏 Any advice appreciated
