The Archers (and other radio dramas)

I love listening to The Archers.

I have no idea who anybody is or what is going on.

I couldn’t tell you the names of any characters (except Nigel who fell off a roof some years ago), or their relationships to each other. I can recognise the different voices but I’ve no idea what they’re called 😆

Somehow whilst I’m listening I manage to get the gist of what’s going on but if you ask me to explain the storyline I draw a blank!

I think it’s because there’s so many characters, as I seem to do a bit better with other radio dramas where they’re only a couple of episodes and one or two characters. But I’ve also realised I miss an awful lot of background detail when watching the TV (completely missed that something was set on the coast the other day).

So, does anyone else enjoy listening / not listening to The Archers? And if so, can you remember who’s who and what’s going on? 😬

Nb. I don’t actually want a rundown of the current storyline - I probably wouldn’t remember it anyway!
