Royal siding products

Hi,

Currently in the process of residing our house and contractor gave us a quote with Royal siding D4. When I went to the supply house to look I found out about the two different royal lines.

Royal crest, 0.04" thick panel

Royal estate 0.044" thick panel

I need to clarify with the contractor but I'm sure the quote is for the thinner panel.

The difference doesn't sound significant to me, a layman with this stuff. Other threads didn't mention Royal by name but said that anything under 0.042" is for low end rentals. Any truth to this?

This is our family home and are not planning on moving.
