Aspirated during surgery

Enterra (Gastric Pacemaker)

Hi all! I have been diagnosed with gastroparesis since age 9 (symptoms started around age 5) and recently had to have surgery to get a kidney stone taken out. After the surgery when they were extubating me i ended up vomiting up and aspirating on noodles I ate 2 days previously. I have a gastric pacer which has lessened some of my symptoms for a couple years but now im getting more and more nauseous and vomiting more often again. Do gastric pacers stop working after awhile? I got my battery checked and all the leads checked and they’re fine. Does it just become less effective? Also my surgeon said to have a longer NPO time before surgery, but if the noodles were 2 days old how long do they want me to starve myself? I never thought i would say this but im honestly missing my g/j tube at this point.
