Trying to help a student in Atlanta

I know this may not be the right place, but since I noticed this reddit is full of people from everywhere and not just LA, I wanted to ask here just in case.
I'm trying to help a student of mine who is new to Atlanta and seems not to be able to find any filmmaking community. Could anyone give me any recommendations of places, mixers, facebook groups, or anything where a student can maybe start to get more connected with people alike? Maybe start to collab in projects, etc?
