Should I recheck progesterone numbers?

I wanted to get some feedback from other breeders how many of you recheck your dogs’ progesterone levels after breeding to make sure they stay high enough to sustain pregnancy and prevent reabsorption?

This was recently mentioned to me, and I realized I’ve never really thought to do that before. I was told that some breeders will recheck about a week or two after breeding, and that there are medications that can be given if progesterone levels start to drop too early.

I’m curious how common this practice actually is and whether others have found it helpful in maintaining healthy pregnancies.
