WDC #472: Aberrations (Submissions)
Let's look at the results from the As It Was Written round! The goal was to design a Fabled card (and its tokens -- what even constitutes a 'card', anyway?):
- Best Card: Kay, Pop Hunter by u/FrostedWyrm04 -- (Discord)
- Runner-up: Mannoroth the Victorious by u/teknician -- (Discord)
- Best 'alternate timeline' card: Illidan, Lightforged by u/yssurucipe -- (Discord)
Weekly Competition
Hello, designers! It's your host, Fashionably Late.
The topic of this week's competition is Aberrations. This label is used for various species and races across the Warcraft universe that are related to the Void or Old Gods, but aren't exactly Demons. Effectively, think back to Whispers of the Old Gods or Madness at Darkmoon Faire, and all those weird eldritch minions that you'd mistakenly label Demons until someone at the CHS subreddit or Discord server points out to you that it's wrong.
HOWEVER, this week, I also come to you with a special request. You see, now that we are posting our creations to this thread and the Discord channel alike, I have to manually download every image and combine them together into a single picture for the voting thread. Muscle memory comes in handy, but not so much when the individual images are of different sizes, so I KINDLY ASK that you put all your cards and tokens into single pictures. Heck, you don't have to worry about that "don't pretty your submission" up rule that's in the rulebook somewhere, I'll take that for smoothing the process on my end anyday...
Prompts
Your prompt this week is to design a minion that is an Aberration. Feel free to use an Aberration minion type for this comp.
The secondary prompt is to introduce the best potential tribe mechanic.
How to participate
Submit your card in the form of a comment on this post which includes a link to the image of your card. If you are submitting several pictures (e. g. a card and its tokens), please link all the images individually. Ideally, check that your links ends on a '.png' or a similar image format. Feel free to browse other entries and leave your feedback on them in the meantime!
The submission phase ends next Monday, ~21:00 CET (~3PM EST, ~3AM AWDT next day -- times are orientational and may vary with daylight savings and my laziness)
