Had a bout of thyroiditis, was put on atenolol for a little over a month now. Endo and PCP said since readings are normal again to half my dose of atenolol for a week then after that week to completely stop. Is this safe? I just want another opinion or if someone else had to taper that fast.
I am just scared as I’ve read the effects of stopping so fast. I was put on it because my heart rate was so high but now all my tests are back to normal, and it’s only been a month and some days since I started taking it. I just don’t want anything bad to happen.
