“Everyone Can Die But Not Su Mu Yu”
Welcome to another episode summary of Blood River.
The scene opens with the Patriarch admitting to the existence of two Dormant Dragon Sword, the difference being that the one in the room holds the key to Blood River’s secrets.
Back to our cute love birds; the only ray of sunshine in this heavily fogged conflict. Mu Yu Mo takes a dagger from Tang Lianyue while he was asleep. After a short reflection, she accepts that he allows her to take it.
Like I did, she considers it a love token.
Su Changhe visits the Su Family Head and wounds him in a brief fight. He tells him of hie plan to transform Blood River.
In a brief conversation with another older Su family member, he announces The OtherShore as the new name for the transformed Blood River, showing off a ring worn by him and the members of Blood River.
Shortly after, Su Changhe threatens to kill one of his faction members after he was accused of favoritism for not killing Su Mu Yu.
Li Hanyi Makes an Appearance
On a street in Juxiao City, we get a little bit of insight into Su Mu Yu’s recent actions.
One of the reasons he stayed by the Patriarch was not just because of his loyalty but because he needed a hint into investigating the circumstances surrounding the massacre of his family, sect, and No Sword City.
The Patriarch gave him a key to find clues in Tianqi City.
Su Changhe tries to convince Su Mu Yu to join The Other Shore but Su Mu Yu disagrees citing that Blood River is more complicated than what he thinks.
Once again, Su Changhe draws his blade on Su Mu Yu, claiming they’ve always been on different paths.
As expected, Su Changhe couldn’t bring himself to hurt him.
Li Hanyi, the Sword Diety and City Lord of Xueyue city joins their conversation.
She tries to convince Su Mu Yu to take charge of Blood River or either dissolve it.
Tang LianYue’s Revenge
At the SpiderNest, Tang Lianyue fights the Patriarch in revenge of his martial uncle’s death, and successfully wounds him reversing his poison.
The Patriarch reminds him that there’s a deeper scheme behind his uncle’s death and chides him to be cautious.
The End of The Patriarch
Su Mu Yu and Su Changhe rushes to the scene but it was too late. The Patriarch was beyond cure.
In a solemn discussion with the two young men, the Patriarch shares how Mu Kewen(the old man guarding SpiderNest)’s death and Su Mu Yu’s loyalty made him realize he’s not alone anymore.
This conversation shows the humane side of the Patriarch and who he was beyond his identity as an assassin or a Patriarch.
He also shares how he wanted to create a different Blood River but he couldn’t.
He left the sword to both Su Mu Yu and Su Changhe, leaving them to make the decision.
He bids them farewell after sharing his plan to set himself and the nest on fire.
Despite wanting the sword for himself, Su Changhe tells Su Mu Yu that he’s willing to let go of the sword only if he’ll take it for himself.
He suggests that Su Mu Yu should be the Patriarch while he takes the position of the Su Family head.
While they’re arguing, the water official and Mu Ciling makes an appearance to steal the sword.
Hell Palm x Eighteen Sword Array
Mu Ciling arrives at the SpiderNest to steal the Dormant Dragon Sword.
Su Changhe fights him with the forbidden Hell Palm technique but Mu Ciling gains the upper hand, leaving Su Changhe injured.
After a strategic collaboration, both Su Changhe and Su Mu Yu faced Mu Ciling head on.
With a planned strike, Mu Ciling is left injured.
Su Changhe: The First Nameless Patriarch
Su Changhe accepts that Su Mu Yu wants to leave Blood River. Even though he was sad, he allows it and shares the location of a house he bought for him.
He also chooses to respect Su Mu Yi’s boundaries if he plans to leave without telling him his location.
I find that part very sad because he already thought about the possibilities. And he already made peace with the fact that Su Mu Yu could chose to go away silently without anyone knowing where he’s hiding.
And here’s the contrast, I think that action is more suited to Su Changhe since he’s the one who kept the organization’s existence away from Su Mu Yu for six years.
Fortunately, Su Mu Yu decides to stay back to help Su Changhe with the reform process of Blood River. According to him Su Changhe could make it a mess because of his “greed and ambition”.
With Su Mu Yi’s support, all the assassins present during the conflict in Blood River (including the Twelve Zodiacs) accepted Su Changhe as the Patriarch while Su Mu Yu became the head of the Su Family.
Amidst the chaos, One of the three officials of Blood River visits the Patriarch.
He claims the Patriarch made a wrong decision in handing over the sword to the young nameless assassins and he proceeds to punish him by setting him & the room on fire.
The Patriarch did not protest as he plans to do the same to himself.
I’m guessing that’s the end of the Patriarch.
On the other end, Mu Yu Mo wakes up to an empty room.
If I ever transmigrate into the Blood River universe, I want to be Mu Yu Mo, please. I love how she stayed away from the conflict and recuperated in the hands of a fine man. Like, go girl. Enjoy.
A Momentary Step Away from The Dark
After the purging of Blood River, Su Mu Yu lives in a small town with Bai He Huai where she takes in patient.
In the classic Bai He Huai style, she turns Su Mu Yu into her brand ambassador and creates a daily fan service event for her patients while charging them a very high price.
Away from the cozy village, we see two new characters. A sect leader and a Prince are discussing how to exploit the new change in Blood River
In an empty temple of the Three Officials of Blood River, Su Changhe discovers a key hidden in the Dormant Dragon Sword.
This discovery explains why the three family heads were thirsting after the sword so bad.
More Flashbacks:
Apparently Su Mu Yu’s umbrella didn’t have magnetic powers to return his eighteen swords whenever he uses his killing array when he was younger.
The flashback reveals Su Changhe laughing at him while watching him pick up his swords one by one.
Like Su Changhe said, it’s embarrassing for an assassin to start picking up swords after killing people.
So, he designed an umbrella with a magnetic effect for Su Mu Yu. That's very thoughtful. I really enjoy the way they complement each other.
Su Mu Yu Should Not Touch A Cooking Spoon
When Su Mu Yu isn’t boiling herbs for the ladies, he’s on another attempt to poison … no, cook noodles for our miracle physician.
Bai He Huai begs him to give up on cooking since it’s not a talent he possess but Su Mu Yu insists on trying. E for effort, yeah?
While our two characters enjoy their quiet life, it’s interrupted by two characters. Xie Xuan and Li Hanyi. They’re notable figures in the jianghu. Xie Xuan is a Scholarly Diety while Li Hanyi is a Sword Diety. Both characters are in the other two dramas in this series.
Xie Xuan arrives first and cooks dinner for them, while Bai He Huai and Su Mu Yu admire his skills. Lu Hanyi joins the party with a streak of killing intent.
Li Hanyi attempts to fight Su Mu Yu but Bai He Huai cleverly solves the issue by reminding her of their personal connections.
Bai He Huai is a huge nepo baby. She has ties to two lords of Xueyue City. She’s Bali DongJun’s cousin and grandmaster of Sikong Changfeng( all three of them are city lords of Xueyue City)
After finding out her close ties with Bai He Huai, Lu HanYi choose to relax.
The lively gathering turned dark as Su Changhe shows up. Li Hanyi claims she was deceived as she expected Su Mu Yu to be the Patriarch.
\"keep your head safe. I'll come to take it.\"
After a brief spar with Su Changhe, she threatens to hunt down the two assassins if Blood River’s transformation never happens.
On a Quest to Unlock Blood River’s Wealth & Secrets
Su Changhe shares his discovery of a secret in the sword to Su Mu Yu.
After bidding farewell to Bai He Huai, Su Mu Yu follows Su Changhe to the Yellow Springs, a popular but secretive bank that holds the wealth of Blood River.
There they encounter a strange character who could shape shift into different people.
Personal Thoughts.
Su Changhe is more brilliant than he looks. The way he maintained secrecy with the organization for six years is remarkable work. Even the heads of the three families had no idea until they met their end.
Also, these recent episodes shows a slight development in the relationship between Bai He Huai and Su Mu Yu, with him buying her favorite cake for her and playing house. It's cute. I also enjoyed the mini break away from the darkness that shrouds over Blood River.
