(Citizens of countries that recognize Taiwan) What comes to mind when someone mentions “China”?

[Disclaimer: this question is directly at people from specific countries, but since those countries are scattered around the world I figured this would be a better subreddit to ask rather than, idk, r/asklatinamerica etc.]

Citizens of countries whose governments recognize the Republic of China (Taiwan) as the true China (e.g. Guatemalans, Paraguayans, Marshallese, etc):

When you guys talk about China in your day to day lives, is the image in your mind that of the ROC?

For instance if your friend were to mention something about the “President of China”, would your mind go to Lai Ching-te (the ROC president) rather than Xi Jinping?

If a family member said they were going on vacation in China, would you think Taipei rather than Beijing or Shanghai?

In other words, is your country’s recognition merely limited to your government, or do regular citizens also psychologically associate the word “China” with the ROC?
