I'm just back from bikepacking around southern Europe for a bit over 3 month, sleeping in the X-dome 1+ almost every night. Here are my impressions about the tent.

**The good:**

* I very much enjoyed the height of the tent. I'm a tall guy (1m86) and I've rarely been able to sit with a completely straight back inside my past tents. In that case there's even room to spare which is great.
* Very easy to pitch and for a lightweight tent it is definitely very sturdy when it comes to wind resistance.
* I appreciate the ease of use of the magnetic door holders.

**The meh:**

* The system of clips that connects the rain fly to the net is a double edged sword. It is very convenient in dry conditions, making the setup and and take-down quick and easy. However in humid or rainy conditions when the fly needs to be dried every day it is a bit of a PITA to have to fumble with the more than a dozen clips twice a day. I've been lucky in terms of weather so in my case overall it saved me more time than it cost me.
* The narrow end of the inner is too small for my mattress (Nemo Tensor XL) but I know that the dimensions have evolved with the new versions.
* Similarly to what many other here have experienced, the insert of the top pole disappeared in the pole (that was from the replacement pole set). I managed to fish it out and glue it back and then back home Durston quickly sent me the new carbon version. Not a pleasant surprise in the field but I can praise the promptness of the customer service.

**The bad:**

* The supposedly water-resistant stitches on the door panels are just...not water-resistant at all. I've experienced water running inside from all the stitches and then being splashed on the inner (and me) because of the wind on the fly during storms. So I've seam sealed those seams which I wish would have been done initially.
* The pieces of fabric that hold the magnets in place are already showing signs of wear because of the friction - I can see the magnets through the holes that are developing.
* The mosquito net is incredibly fragile and prone to tears. I must have patched about 10 little holes already. I've never encountered this issue with other tents I've owned and used for 1000s of nights. I've read other accounts stating the same thing and the official answer is "This is the same kind of net used in other lightweight tent". But that's just not true...I compared it to the net of my last tent (Nemo Hornet 2P) and the difference is night and day. I can pull on the net from the Nemo with quite a bit of force without any consequence. If I was to do that with the Durston it would tear immediately and when damaged it unravels like a pair of pantyhose, something that the other net doesn't do. Similarly the floor (used with a groundsheet) is very prone to developing holes caused by friction when the groundsheet itself is still in perfect condition. I saw that with the solid version they used the same 20D material for the floor that is used for the groundsheet. I wish it was the case with the standard inner as well.

So all in all...The geometry of the tent itself is very good. But the materials are not durable enough to be used for a long tour. Maybe I am simply not the target audience as I'd happily add a few hundred grams to own a tent that I'll be able to use for more than a few month before it starts to degrade like this. That being said, if the net was replaced with something similar to what is used for the nemo, if the seams were properly sealed and the floor was 20D like the groundsheet + using a stronger fabric to stitch in the magnets + the improvements that have already been made with the new versions I would consider it an excellent tent. But in its current state I am not very pleased with my purchase.
