For any childhood Veggie Tales viewers, are there any specific scenes that stuck with you for many years afterwards?
Other than Larry the Cucumber's "Where Is My Hairbrush?" song, a scene that always stuck with me, especially while still a very young child, is Larry's, Bob the Tomato's, and Junior the Asparagus' reaction to the the evil zucchini's chocolate bunny song. Larry, Bob, and Junior have a very uncomfortable face throughout the the entire song, but in the part where he says, "I won't go to church, and I won't go to school," their faces go from uncomfortable to wide-eyed, extremly shocked, and extremely worried just on the "I won't go to church" part.
That is straight-up brainwashing. However, as a seven-year-old watching it, I picked up on the sublte messaging immediately, and it totally made sense to me while watching. Like, "obviously not going to church is bad, so they better be scared of such an idea."
I'm sure Veggie Tales fucked with my brain in other ways as a child, but I don't remember anymore specific scenes as a 36-year-old now.
