People assuming I'm pregnant
I'm a woman, 28 and married for a few years - happily! (Drinking is my problem and not at all due to my marriage/husband)
One thing I find incredibly frustrating and difficult is when I say I'm not drinking or "off the drink" people often ask or start to question/insinuate if I'm pregnant.
We don't want kids and we are very clear and open about that but everyone, especially family is clearly hanging onto hope that we change our minds. Which is not to say I couldn't change my mind in 5 or 10 years time, but I can absolutely say if I were to get pregnant now that I would not have a child.
That aside, it feels extra frustrating to have to advocate for myself and my choices two-fold by saying I'm not drinking but ALSO no I'm not pregnant and I don't want kids.
I don't really anticipate advice, just need to rant how irritating it is struggling with sobriety and not drinking while also feeling the emotional weight of everyone's hope and expectations you're pregnant.
