New engine for UI is crazy to me
Was hesitant to make another negative post since there are so many but I wanted to express this opinion...
The fact that they changed engines because of UI is insane to me. When I heard about the engine change I was sure it had all to do with the match engine, which would makes sense. Graphically you might be limited by the old engine and want something more modern with more capabilities like unity, hopefully getting better graphics and animations as the result.
But the fact they were held back by UI is crazy. UI shouldn't be this crazy processing heavy thing. It's just screens! There's no processing heavy animations or graphics. Even graphs are fairly small in that regard. For anyone thinking "but there's heat maps/a lot of stuff in some pages etc...", thats tiny graphically compared to a modern game like Call of Duty for example.
Hate to pull the "expert" card but as a web dev the whole FM24 UI could be recreated as a website/web app by a team of good developers, with no performance issues.
Was it impossible to have kept the old FM engine for UI and a new engine for the match experience?
Also, did anyone even complain about FM24's UI? Why such a drastic change? FM26 could have recreated the whole UI of previous FMs since they had the blueprint with their last game. But they decided they needed to make it radically different?
Did they feel they had to do drastic changes in order to convince people they needed the 2 year break? Seems like bad logic.
The game would have been great if they kept it as FM24 and just changed to the new match engine and tactics ability, and an updated database.
