Should I skip class to take notes on the lecture?

So I have my evolutionary medicine class soon, and I havent finished copying everything from the slides to my notes yet. Should I just skip the class to take notes instead? It’s not like I’d hear anything the prof is saying (he just reads off the slides and adds stuff) if I’m going to be focused on taking notes on the slides anyway.
