I like it when a guy can rock a bit of hair loss instead of just shaving it all off

I have an ex (we're still good friends) that I still think is hot because he has some thinning but he doesn't just shave his head out of insecurity or because it's what people recommend. Don't get me wrong, some guys look better when it's George Costanza level, but I don't think it should necessarily be an all or nothing thing like people make it out to be.
