What Magnus did was worse.

Miscellaneous

It’s true that Kramnik had the longevity of being an asshole. He attacked Danya, along with several others, for an entire year

But it’s important to note that he is an old, washed bum who doesn’t really have a following. The only damage he did was spew his bullshit tweets on Twitter and stream to his 150 viewers. The vast majority of people outside of hardcore chess fans didn’t even hear about his accusations.

Magnus on the other hand has a massive reach, far more than anything Kramnik could ever dream of. Even Elon Musk himself was tweeting about Han’s butt plugs, the story had made global headlines and the entire world knew about it even outside of the chess world.

And yes, it’s true that he didn’t constantly attack him the way Kramnik did. But it’s important to note that Magnus boycotted a tournament by pulling out, that was far more damaging than a million tweets. And then he proceeded to resign on move 2 on his next game against Hans. Just imagine what Hans was going through watching the richest man in the world mock him, watching the greatest player in history boycott tournaments because of him.

And yes it’s true that Hans has admitted to cheating online when he was a young kid, but Magnus lost to him face-to-face, the game was NOT online and unless he literally used butt plugs, it would be practically impossible for him to have cheated.
