Harder to earn Smuggler Points

Why are there no weekly challenges to do for Smuggler's Pass? I've only seen the seasonal challenges.... Is this a conscious decision that the devs talked about and I missed? The grind feels SO much longer and more painful without these extra challenges to complete. Anyone else struggling extra getting through the Smuggler's pass?
