Which general liability insurance companies are the best for e-commerce businesses?
I’m getting ready to shop around again for general liability coverage, and just wanted to check with others in the e-commerce space. I had Liberty Mutual for the last few years with no issues, but now I need to reapply because my old agent is no longer appointed with them.
The last time I shopped for insurance (4–5 years ago), I ran into issues because of one product — a grinder — that some companies tried to classify as a cannabis-related item, even though it’s not technically anything illegal. Back then, it made things a little tricky and limited my options.
I’ve heard it might be a non-issue nowadays, but I figured I’d check in and see which carriers people are currently having success with. I sell mostly private label stuff online — Amazon, Etsy, and now Walmart. The grinder is just a small part of my catalog, and I’m even open to removing it temporarily during the application process if needed.
Just looking for any recommendations on carriers that have been fair or easy to work with.
Thanks in advance.
