Meta Health & wellness data sharing block for health app installs

Hey guys,

ChatGPT was hallucinating way too much on this and Meta support was non-existent so hoping someone can help with this.

I am working on Meta ads for a health app. The only thing I want to track with the Facebook SDK is app installs.

In the dataset for my app in Meta Ads Manager, I see 2 events:

-Activate app

-App installs

I received the email from Meta that I was flagged for data sharing restrictions on Oct 16. Since Oct 16, the “Activate app” event has dropped every day to be zero today

Before Oct 16 and since then, app install events have had no change in performance

It seems as though Meta auto-assigned my app to:

Health & wellness condition:

Your data source category has been reviewed, and your request was rejected. As such, the following data sharing restriction(s) have been applied:

·        Data sharing may be blocked when visitors are in the European Region.

·        In other locations, certain standard events may be blocked and your data source may be in a core setup.

Even before Oct 16, I noticed that Meta app install ad performance was very odd- bizarrely high cost per installs and very few impressions being served. I suspect this was due to restrictions being applied even before I was alerted.

Any suggestions on how to get the restriction lifted or at least prevent cost per install from being throttled? (note that my customers are not in the European region so I am not concerned about throttling there)
