#10 – 🏙️Bad Girls Club: Chicago (The Midwestern Mess)

After the chaotic disaster that was Season 11, I thought Season 12 had real potential to get things back on track — and while it started off promising, it ended up feeling pretty mid. The cast had a solid mix of personalities with Loren, Redd, Jada, Blu, Britt, Linsey and Slim, but the season never reached its full potential. Linsey left in the very first episode, which already threw off the balance early on. The show gave us glimpses of strong moments, but the drama often felt forced or repetitive, and the pacing didn’t help either.

Redd was easily the standout, bringing chaos and humor even when she was doing too much. Loren tried to be the house leader, but her constant back-and-forth with the girls made her come off inconsistent. Jada, Blu, and Britt had their moments, but it seemed like every episode someone was switching sides or flip-flopping on alliances. That constant shifting made it hard to know who was really cool with who, which could’ve been interesting if it didn’t also make the season feel messy and directionless.

When the replacements — Aysia, Dalila, and Raesha — came in, they brought some energy but not enough to save the season. Dalila, though, deserves credit for shaking things up during her short time in the house — she came in bold and instantly stirred the pot before her stay was cut short. The love triangle between Aysia, Blu, and Blu’s girlfriend Diamond was more annoying than entertaining, dragging down the second half with unnecessary drama that felt stale fast. Most of the conflicts burned out as quickly as they started, leaving the season with no real payoff. Overall, BGC: Chicago earns its nickname as “The Midwestern Mess.” It wasn’t bad like some of the lower-ranked seasons, but it never hit the highs of the classics either. It had potential and a few entertaining moments, but it lacked the lasting spark. I’d rate it a 6/10 — decent, but forgettable.
