[1163-Spoilers] Rocks and Blackbeard Are No Match for Imu

Hey guys, the events of the last chapter left me quite puzzled.

We see Rocks getting domi reversi’d without even realizing it, which implies that Rocks’ knowledge of Imu doesn’t include how Imu’s Devil Fruit or abilities actually work.

Moreover, the plan he had to conquer the world, involving the two fruits and the former members of the Galela Company, isn’t a response to Imu’s power. Otherwise, he would know that attacking Imu is pointless or even dangerous for him and his crew.

This also means that his successor, Blackbeard, who apparently has the same goal of world domination (and probably overthrowing Imu), is no longer a credible threat. Once he faces Imu, he’d get domi reversi’d without understanding what happened, and that would be the end of his so-called rebellion.

I’ll go even further: Rocks doesn’t even know how to counter the regeneration of the Divine Knights…

As for Luffy, he has three possible ways to defeat Imu:

1. He develops a level of Haki equal to Joy Boy’s.
2. The One Piece either reveals how to defeat Imu or grants the means to do so.
3. His pure personality and Devil Fruit are the only real counter to Imu’s power.

For (1), given his current level, it would take a miracle to turn him into a “Joy Boy 2.0.”
For (2), Rocks isn’t obsessed with the One Piece, and Roger himself said that the One Piece alone isn’t enough to change anything (“I arrived too early”).
For (3), that would make Luffy the ultimate Devil Fruit merchant of the world, and Blackbeard the biggest failure.

So, combining (2) and (3) seems the most likely to me.
But that would mean that the core assumptions of the One Piece mythology, “anyone can have the One Piece” and “everyone has the power to change the world”, are actually false.

PS: If the Yami Yami no Mi completely nullifies Imu’s abilities (assuming those powers originate from her Devil Fruit), then the entire lineup, the Divine Knights, the Gorosei, and even Imu herself, would get absolutely fodderized by Blackbeard. This would make the Yami Yami no Mi the greatest threat to Imu, surpassing even the Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika. Because even without awakening, it can fight and potentially one-shot the elite protectors of Marijoa.
