Is it safe to remove these diagonal supports?

There are these 2 diagonal posts in my attic. The house is a gut rehab and I suspect the posts are from the original construction considering the old looking wood and nails.

I want to remove them to make more space to put down a storage platform. I'm 90% sure they're not doing anything. The one in front just haphazardly connects the post with the light to a joist. The one in back does actually connect to the beam, but not exactly tightly. Its top end connects to something behind spray insulation.

My plan was to remove the front support completely. The back one I would cut just before it enters the spray foam and leave the end in, removing the rest.

If an answer to this requires a professional's advice, what sort of professional do I look up and what do I ask for?
