is learning visually through the eyes is good way to learn anatomy itself?

General Question

Some people, especially some artists, seem to learn anatomy by simply observing how they work through images, like using some random images from books or searching on Google to understand the skeleton for reference and understand parts like the rib cage or pelvic girdle, or the muscular system, like the deltoid or bicep and chest and abs Is this a useful technique for understanding anatomy?
