My best friend made me her MOH and completely ruined me for months

Okay, so I (28F) have been best friends with Emma (27F) since college. When she got engaged last year, she asked me to be her maid of honor and I was thrilled. I thought it would be fun, special, a way to celebrate her but it turned into a total nightmare from the very beginning. Emma is absolutely insane. She treated me like her personal assistant instead of her best friend. She demanded I pay for an expensive MOH dress, two pairs of shoes, and even my own hotel and travel for pre-wedding events. When I told her that was already stretching my budget, she literally said, “Well I guess you’re just not as committed as the others.” Then she started micromanaging everything. I had to answer her wedding-related texts at 2 AM, drive her to stores for hours while she made every decision herself, and call her constantly to approve even the tiniest decorations. She complained about everything, guilt-tripped me into attending pointless family brunches for people I’d never met, and told me my absence would “ruin her photo aesthetic.” It got worse. She gave me an impossible to-do list: personally hand-deliver favors to 50 guests, label every seating card by hand, coordinate the bridal party’s hair and makeup completely solo, and also memorize her wedding hashtag word-for-word. When I asked for a break, she screamed at me for “not caring about her special day.” She even forced me to buy last-minute expensive accessories she “suddenly decided” were essential, while texting me constantly about how I was “falling behind.” On the wedding day, I thought it couldn’t get worse. I was completely excluded from the bridal suite prep, left alone while the other bridesmaids got ready. Then she gave my speech to someone else without telling me. Right before the ceremony, she made a passive-aggressive comment in front of everyone about how some people “can’t handle MOH responsibilities.” I felt completely humiliated and disposable. But the absolute peak of her entitlement was what happened next. She demanded that I wait in a separate room while she posed for photos with her family and the other bridesmaids. Then she made me carry all the heavy bags, decorations, and gifts to the venue while she “supervised,” criticizing my every move. She openly told the photographer I was “too slow” and shouldn’t be in any pictures, even though I had been working nonstop for months. At that point I literally snapped. I walked out before the ceremony even started. Months of planning, spending money, running errands, emotionally supporting her—completely disregarded and treated like I was nothing. Now she and her fiancé are calling me selfish and dramatic, and some mutual friends say I overreacted. But honestly, I feel humiliated, betrayed, and completely disposable. I was supposed to be her MOH, her closest friend, and she treated me like absolute garbage. I just walked out and haven’t looked back. AITAH?
