Danya on "one of the most devastating feelings in all of chess"

Miscellaneous

I always remembered this as very relatable, although I am an amateur player, and not very strong.

Danya was commentating Tata Steel 2022 when Vidit made a massive blunder vs Mamedyarov (3:21:51 - https://www.youtube.com/live/5P-N\_IS5MAk?si=UNQSIe\_MOljmkpdf&t=12111). And he said "the feeling of just having blundered and then realizing it, as it dawns on you that you do not even have a single way to complicate the game, is one of the most devastating feelings in all of chess".

His ability to, at the same time, provide a top-level analysis and breakdown of the position in an understandable way, and also come up with these kinds of quotes, was simply unparalleled.
