MIDI vs third party plugin

I have FL Studio 25. I would like external instrument plugins to work with a midi keyboard and its switches. When I set the midi input channel of my keyboard, it works. But when I change the instrument, the previous one still plays, and I would like the previous one to be automatically disabled when I select another instrument.
