Median Question

I’ve seen a lot of conflicting information about how much law schools care about medians. Some say that being just slightly below a median counts the same as being well below it, since both still pull the number down. Others say that at some T14 schools, median changes happen simply because they admit high-stat applicants organically, not because they are strictly enforcing certain numbers. Does anyone have insight into how schools in the T14–T20 range actually approach medians? If anyone has knowledge regarding specific schools, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
