Interest in buying a cheap switch lite with non working button

I saw someone selling a Switch Lite for around 65 bucks. but the seller says:
-none of the buttons or joystick works
-only works with a joystick that it's included
-home, volume, power button works

but I don't understand very well what's the issue, it's a issue with software or something that needs repairing?
