My wife tried to frame me for domestic violence

Long story I’ll try to keep it short. My mother-in-law got caught lying to me about my kids. This is after she hauled off and slapped my 1 year old son. The worst thing about it are: (1) my wife tells me I need to just deal with it because “they do so much for us“ (they live with us and they watch my son while we work from home, we can afford childcare I just thought it was better to have him around family.) and (2) my wife has indicated, by straight up threatening me, that she will make it so I can never see my kids again if I get authorities involved. Her parents will absolutely go along with whatever story concocted.

Fast forward to yesterday morning. I’m trying to talk to my wife. I ask her a question and she just rudely rolls her eyes and walks out of the room. She knows I hate this, so I follow her. She walks in the bathroom, stripped down and hopped in the shower. I turned the shower off and asked her if she could just answer my question. She acted weird and it made me suspect she was recording. I turned the shower back on, saw she had posted her cell phone to record our conversation so I turned it off, and then I stripped and hopped in the shower.

When I jumped in, I said something smart like “now we can multitask “. She immediately started backing into me which I thought was weird, but my wife isn’t always spatially aware. But then she started saying “stop pushing me“ and “real tough guy aren’t you “. It was insane. I laughed at her and said you’re literally leaning on me, I haven’t moved. She then leaned harder into me, and I played the pull the leg out trick, where you let the person lose their balance. I thought I could catch her but as I was catching her she shrugged me away. Pretty sure the shrugging away wasn’t intentional, as even though it was all in slow Mo we were both shocked. She ended up going down to the ground, but in a weird like slow motion way as I was holding her. She then started yelling, “You pushed me” as I was smirking because I honestly thought it was funny she fell for the oldest trick in the book (until the yelling). It wasn’t until I got out of the shower and she was still carrying on about how I am a domestic abuser etc that I realized what she was up to. Her face went pale when she realized it hadn’t been recorded.

We have two kids. Now I’m stuck living with this person, or risking never seen my kids again. This sucks.
