DIY Latex Foam Earbuds

I have scraps of foam latex bedding and am sick of memory foam earbuds disintegrating on me. Could I carve the foam latex to make tips for my JBL REFLECT AEROs?

I can't see why it wouldn't work, but also can't find anybody recommending or trying this technique out.
