Nikon Lite Touch Zoom 120 ED not advancing film

Hey everyone, I picked up this point and shoot from a flea market a few months ago. I put in a battery and some film and had success for a lot of shots but it started to only grab the frame and advance the camera every once in a while then stopped altogether except for once every 20 or so tries sometimes. The camera turns on, autofocuses, and tries to take it no problem, but just doesn’t actually take the picture or advance the film. I’m planning on taking it to the local camera store but was wondering if you all had any thoughts before I’d do so? A small part of the diopter broke off and there’s some scratches on the surface but that’s all. Thanks!
