It’s about the dance for me
I had a thousand or more hours into DbD before my break during a massive reorg at work. Four years off, just came back. I’ve been reading a lot of posts here, both killer and survivor; it’s not always about winning imo for the survivor.
My build as a survivor may not counter the killers meta, or I just do enough to make sure my team survives. My goals have become doing as much to benefit the survivor game as I can before dying. Call it copium, call it what you will. It was really rough in the early ranks, but easy to rank. I was shocked to see the removal of the deranking mechanic aside from toxic DCing (and because you suffered a technical failure.).
As a solo survivor preparing to die should be in the cards, making it as hard on them as possible imo is the play. I survive as solo 30-50% of the time without being a complete dick to the killer. I get tunneled sometimes, I loop them over a short path until bloodlust sometimes to pop last gen… either way, it’s gaming.
Rank 1 feels the same as it did back then, I just have to count more often after an action to offset perks. So many new perks.
Love,
Dying on hook
