New House Tips and Tricks

I am closing on a house this week and was curious what everyone does to claim or cleanse a new space. Is there anything you consider a must when moving somewhere new? This house will be the oldest I've ever lived in (125 years) and coming into a place with history makes me a bit nervous but I also want to be respectful of the space.
