To give two weeks notice in person or via zoom?

I need to put my two weeks notice in at a job I love. The decision is purely financial and I have a pit in my stomach thinking about doing it.

I’m working remotely today as my schedule is hybrid. I have a normal weekly check in meeting with my boss via zoom this afternoon. Should I tell him this afternoon or wait to do it in person tomorrow?

The issue is, if I wait until tomorrow it’s unfortunately my planned annual performance appraisal.

The timing of this is just bad. My question is should to do it via zoom today or wait to do it in person tomorrow? I hate that my boss is preparing for my performance appraisal and I am going to blindside him but is it more professional to quit in person?
