Should we stay the night in bangkok or catch flight next day to chiang mai

Me and my wife will be reaching BKK around 2000(08 PM). As I have checked flights to CNX chiang mai, most are going via DMK and not much flights in night time. Should we just stay the night in bangkok or go directly?
