I 23F have been in a five year relationship with 23M and forgive him for “cheating”. What’s some advice to handle the new change?
I 23F have been in a relationship with my boyfriend 23M for a few years already and everything has been going well. We do have disagreements here and there but we never go to sleep angry and make sure to communicate.
A few weeks ago he came to me and confessed to have cheated on me but claimed to be under the influence and said he didn’t know what to do. I asked him questions and he answered it all. I ended up forgiving him and we’ve been slowly going back to normal but I still get those random thoughts of blame. I need advice to handle this new change in the relationship. I still love him a lot and he makes sure to show it and says he’s guilty for what happened. Breaking up isn’t an option since to me it seemed the other person took advantage of him. You can’t consent to anything when under the influence right?
I need advice,
What are some coping strategies or how were you able to overcome a situation with your partner like this?
