More Leg Work Being Done By Lucasfilm To Set Up Ben Solo’s Resurrection
So since the Rise of Skywalker we’ve gotten both foreshadowing and new lore that sets up Ben Solo’s resurrection.
Boba Fett’s “return from the dead” and subsequent Kylo Ren scar on his helmet.
Ahsoka’s resurrection from the World Between Worlds with the choice to “live or die”-this was a repurposed concept from Colin Trevorrow’s Episode 9 where Rey comes back from the dead at the end of the movie where the Force Ghosts give her a choice to “live or die”
Assaj Ventress’s resurrection where the Nightsister Spirits give her the choice to live with a curse or stay dead.
Now we are getting a new Darth Vader novel where Darth Vader goes searching for a force user that can literally raise the dead: https://collider.com/star-wars-master-of-evil-darth-vader-book-sneak-peek-release-date/
If Disney’s problem with the Hunt for Ben Solo was a lack of lore reasons at the time for Ben Solo’s resurrection, Lucasfilm seems to have been doing the leg work since through its other mediums to fix this issue.
This leg work sets up Ben’s return. While I do believe that the Hunt for Ben Solo is dead, I also believe that it’s concepts will be repurposed for the project whose working title is “New Jedi Order” which I personally think will be Episode X. I personally think the revelation of the Hunt for Ben Solo is a publicity stunt to build up hype for Ben’s return the next movie. I don’t think Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy posting a Rumi quote on her IG-do we remember the significance of Rumi and Reylo?-is a coincidence.
I’ve also think Sharmeen is the perfect person to write this story with her female gaze and first hand experience with religious institutions that actively try to suppress femininity and romantic relationships to maintain their power-ya know kind of like the Jedi Order. I think when, what I think is Episode X comes out, she is going to surprise a lot of people with how good of a movie she makes
