Advice for looking for old Toyotas
I miss my old 2008 Corolla S. I want an older Toyota as my next car (90s, 2000s, early 2010s). I hate modern cars because of all the electronics. They are ridiculously expensive to repair and lowkey annoying when they beep and boop.
What I want out of a daily driver: reliable, easy/cheap to service and maintain, sedan, coupe, or hatchback, manual transmission. It would be nice if it were mildly spritely. I don't want another 9th Gen Corolla, unless it is an XRS.
I am in New England, so rust is a major concern. What sorts of things should I be on the lookout for, what are items that I should pay attention to on old Corollas, Camerys, Celicas, Avalon, Matrixes etc...how stupid would I be to hunt down an old 2ZZ-GE engine car? Should I look outside of New England?
Thanks for any information or feedback.
